Portrait of a Ugandan Couple

Kyeyune said this picture is not representative of anyone he knows but a sort of montage of faces he may or may not have ever seen. What a painting, and it’s a favorite of Zeke, the collector’s four-year-old son. Each and every time the little boy points to it as the one he likes a lot. The women Kyeyune paints are usually attractive, and the middle-aged woman in this picture is no exception despite (or perhaps because of) her quizzical look. She appears to have seen something that’s unnerving her, so that her gomesi starts to ride.
