Damulira’s virtuoso work evokes the delicacy of crowds and the surprising persistence of the individual. He has cultivated a forward-looking impressionist style that is often as colorful as it is thought-provoking. His canvases invite us to look closely for signs of life, for signs of vitality, in the vaguely described figures of usually women and children. His work has the capacity to light up any room. Damulira was educated at the famous art school at Makerere University, where he trained as a painter under Godfrey Banadda and others. This piece was acquired directly from Damulira after his latest work was shown in a two-man exhibition at Kampala’s Bumu Gallery in 2026.
