This piece was commissioned by the collector after he discovered Katumba through Nuwa Wamala Nnyanzi, the great Ugandan artist. Katumba’s works are always exciting, and this sculpture is no exception: the face of a woman whose front has been abstracted to resemble a breast. Katumba described his creation as a “strange thing,” one whose strangeness made it truly desirable. The work stands as one of the wonders of the Roduza Collection.
