Natnael was attending a residency at 32 Degrees East, the center for artists and other creatives in Kampala, when he made this piece in 2023. It was among the smaller canvases he was working on, but it packed quite a punch. This collector was immediately drawn to the semi-abstract painting that seemed to capture a woman’s inner feelings, acquiring it at once. It is part of a wider Layers of Life series of works by Natnael, a notable Ethiopian artist.
