Lips at Work II

This lovely piece, which describes the fleeting joy of childhood, was acquired directly from Kanuge, a master printmaker who is among the greatest Ugandan artists you have never heard of. He has taught printmaking for years at Makerere University’s Margaret Trowell School of Industrial and Fine Arts. Kanuge has been a mentor to the next generation of printmakers, including Paul Ssendagire and Robert Yiga. Kanuge’s work has been collected by the Museum of Modern Art in New York, in addition to numerous private collectors.
