The great Ugandan artist Leonard Kateete executed this canvas in 2025 after receiving a commission from Muhumuza to make a couple of still lifes for the Roduza Collection. The other painting is titled “I am Alone.” Together, the pieces amount to a statement by Kateete on his trials as a late-life bachelor, the chaos in the pictures somewhat mirroring his own longing for the days when he lived with his now-deceased wife. In both pictures Kateete’s style is realist, with fluid line and the kind of doubtful representation verging on the abstract.
