This small piece was acquired in a curio shop at the Twin Lakes Safari Lodge in the western Ugandan district of Rubirizi, the work of an unknown artist. The collector was immediately attracted to this possibly tribal piece as serious art, not some cheap object. Its grace would dignify any place. The work is a reminder of the skills of local craftsmen who never get the recognition they deserve.
