Kyeyune, who has painted many pictures of Kampala’s inevitable passenger motorcycles, made this piece during the COVID-19 pandemic. But this image is unique in many ways, in the sense that he zooms in on the precariousness of life in a city full of boda-bodas, which both save and take life. In composing this vibrant picture, it’s astonishing how he is able to pack so many details into a small canvas, showing yet again his mastery of color theory.
